Message from the Dean
Welcome to the School of Social Work at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Our school is a regional leader in providing education to the area s most dedicated and trained social workers and practitioners. We have a diverse and dynamic faculty comprised of experts in child welfare, aging, economic development, health policy, mental health, and community development. We are committed to providing an educational experience that will prepare students for work across various social service sectors.
We offer accredited BSW and MSW degrees on our main campus and through outreach to rural area cohorts at Mineral Area College. Our BSW program is one of the largest in the St. Louis Metropolitan area serving traditional and nontraditional students. Our MSW program allows students to focus their course content in family practice with children and families or leadership and social change with possible areas of emphasis in health and behavioral health, school social work, military social work, and aging.
As we embark upon an era punctuated with violence, civil unrest, social injustice, and continued economic and health disparities among our nation s most vulnerable populations, we are prepared to be leaders in the movement for social change and justice. We hope you will be a part of our efforts. To learn more about our programs, please feel free to browse our website and contact us if you have any questions.
